Beneath The Surface

In a world where noise and silence perpetuate cycles of oppression and ecological destruction, Beneath the Surface invites us to dig deeper—to listen, to learn, and to act—beyond discourse, beyond surface-level assumptions, and beyond the limits of dominant systems, including those reflected in academia. Rooted in embodiment as the foundation of eco-liberation, this work urges us to move from theory to practice, from disconnection to presence. Through a composition of text, image, and proposals to engage, it reclaims bodies as living archives, guiding deep listeners toward transgenerational and non-institutional ecosystems where the heart of the Earth and the heart of humanity converge.

The book includes contributions from Ahmet Öğüt and Jamila Barakat, broadening the dialogue around emancipatory education, critical fabulation, and the power of the collective.
